Nneka graduated from Dalhousie University with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and began her career as a pharmacist with Shoppers Drug Mart in 2010. Shortly after becoming licensed in Ontario, Nneka became an Associate-Owner for Shoppers Drug Mart and has transitioned from various stores over the years to where she now resides in Toronto and is a multi-store franchise-owner of 4 pharmacies. Always having a desire for providing innovative, wholistic care; and personal and professional advancement, Nneka obtained a Doctor of Pharmacy degree through the University of Florida in 2015; is a certified Diabetes educator and a registered health coach with the Health Coach Alliance of Canada. She is also a professional committee member with the Ontario College of Pharmacists. Nneka is not only passionate about pharmacy and the evolution of the profession, but she aspires to inspire others to realize their full potential. When it comes to women and racially marginalized people, she hopes to make a positive impact in breaking barriers and blazing a trail for the next generation of pharmacy professionals. Nneka is involved in various women-focused initiatives to help keep the needle moving in the right direction when it comes to empowering and developing leadership potential among women. Nneka is also an active mentor within the community and thoroughly enjoys precepting students at the University of Toronto, Waterloo university and various colleges within the GTA. Nneka is also a preceptor for the Ontario College of Pharmacists’ structured Practical Training for Technicians and Practice Assessment of Competence at Entry for pharmacists’ programs. She has participated in various outreach programs within the community speaking to marginalized youth and has engaged in programs that provide leadership development opportunities to GTA youth of Black African Canadian descent. Nneka looks forward to positive change when it comes to promoting equity and providing support for black pharmacy professionals; and improving the health and wellness of Black patients
